BRAZILIAN ZOUK
The shared language at the foundation of our community.
Brazilian Zouk brings together connection, technique, musicality, and adaptability. It is the core dance language of Zouk Heat and the place where many of our dancers first learned to communicate through movement.
LAMBADA
A living tradition rooted in rhythm, energy, and continuity.
Lambada brings its own history, identity, musicality, and movement quality to the broader ecosystem. At Zouk Heat, we make intentional space for it as a distinct dance tradition—not simply as an add-on.
FLOW
An exploratory practice centered on presence, embodiment, and connection.
Flow invites dancers to listen more deeply, move with greater awareness, and explore texture, continuity, creativity, and expression. It expands the conversation by giving dancers another way to experience movement from the inside out.

HOW WE LEARN
Our workshops are designed for depth, clarity, and real application. Through longer class blocks, concept-based instruction, and intentional learning outcomes, we create space for dancers to understand not just what they are doing, but why—so that learning can travel with them onto the social floor.
HOW WE DANCE
Social dancing is the heart of the Zouk Heat experience. From high-energy late-night rooms to softer spaces and daytime sessions, we create multiple ways to connect, move, recharge, and enjoy the festival without forcing every dancer into the same pace or atmosphere.
HOW WE COMPETE
Competition has a meaningful place at Zouk Heat, but it DOES NOT take over the event. Our Brazilian Zouk (BZDC) and Lambada (LWDC) Jack & Jills are designed as part of the larger event ecosystem, with consolidated programming and simultaneous options available for learning, practicing, and connecting throughout the weekend.
HOW WE EXPERIENCE DEMOS
Demos are meant to inspire, not intimidate. We treat them as opportunities to appreciate artistry, musicality, connection, and movement quality while remembering that performance-level dancing is not the standard for everyday social dance. Watch, learn, take what serves you, and dance your own dance.

HOW WE REST
Rest is part of the design, not an afterthought. Real breaks, protected dinner time, ballroom seating, accessible hydration, the Cozy Corner, and an all-in-one hotel environment give dancers room to recover physically and mentally so they can return to the experience with more energy.
PRO TIP:
Just because it's in the schedule, doesn't mean you have to do ALL the things. Pacing is self care.
