Zouk Heat is not a performance-oriented festival. Although Friday night includes a small showcase as part of our evening programming, performances are intentionally limited to approximately 30–45 minutes.
For artists and teams seeking broader performance opportunities, we encourage you to explore events intentionally structured to accommodate larger showcases, such as the Brazilian Zouk World Championships and many SBKZ festivals with dedicated Zouk programming.
Because our showcase capacity is extremely limited, we do not accept general performance submissions. Thank you for understanding and respecting the experience we have intentionally designed.
Yasssss! COMING SOON!
We're fortunate to have a dedicated team to run this festival and, therefore, are not in need of many volunteers. If/when we require volunteers, a post will be made here on the website & the Zouk Heat FB fan page. Be sure to "Like" the Zouk Heat FB fan page to get alerts when we post: https://www.facebook.com/zoukheatdc
We are fully staffed on instructors, DJs & Media Team for the upcoming festival. Should we require additional staffing in any capacity, we'll proactively manage such needs. Thank you for your understanding ahead of time.
Yes. To avoid unnecessary competition among our vendors, we only accept a limited number selling specific products each year. Should you wish to vendor at out upcoming festival, please contact us via email (zoukheatdc@gmail.com) no later than: MARCH 5, 2027.
Most Zouk Heat workshops explore open-level concepts and are accessible to dancers with varied experience.
However, Zouk Heat does not offer a dedicated beginner track. If you are brand new to Brazilian Zouk—particularly with less than six months to one year of experience—you may find portions of the workshop program challenging, though not necessarily impossible.
Dancers seeking a structured, introductory curriculum may be better served by festivals offering dedicated beginner tracks, such as the New York City Zouk Festival or the Brazilian Zouk World Championships. We fully support these programs and encourage you to choose the festival experience that best meets your current learning needs.
Traditionally, most festival/congress attendees will coordinate with dancers within their local community or those they connect with at other events to find roommates for the next event.
We'll setup a moderated chat for event attendees to communicate directly with one another several weeks out from the festival. Only ticketed/registered event attendees will receive the chat link.
All pertinent info regarding tickets/passes for this year's festival can be found on the ZOUK HEAT 2027: TICKETS page of our website.
